Tired of painting/marking bricks or pealing faded tape on your hives, losing your last queen status?
Jason Crook, the owner of Bohemia Apiary in Warwick, MD, and Brian Koper, the owner of Castle Hives in Warren, OH, shared a common passion for beekeeping that extended beyond their own hives. Managing over 100+ colonies between their apiaries , they faced the daily challenges of keeping track of queen status and managing the intricate timeline of rearing a new queen.
Recognizing the need for efficient tools in the beekeeping community, Jason and Brian joined forces to create innovative solutions. The result? The QueenRightDial series, featuring the Status Indicator 2.0 for post-inspection queen tracking and the Mating Indicator for monitoring the timeline and status of queen rearing.
Queen Right Dial with Airtag Holder for Apimaye
Apimaye USA and QRD worked together to add another feature built in to the queen right dial. Each Queen Right Dial comes with an adapter that replaces the ID tag holder built into the hives, with an AirTag holder. You can hide an AirTag in the adapter, and if your hives are ever stolen, you can find them easier using your hidden AirTag. Please note that AirTag is not included in this product.
Installing the Queen Right Dial with AirTag Holder
Each Apimaye Ergo 10 frame hive comes with the ID Tag Holder installed on the front wall of the hive.
Unscrew the ID Tag holder using a Phillips screwdriver
Screw the adapter piece where the ID Tag Holder was located
Optional: Put an Apple AirTag [Not Included] in the round hole inside the adapter
Screw the Queen Right Dial to the adapter
The process should not take more than a few minutes. See for yourself in the video below!
