Bottom Board for Wooden Hives

G type bottom board is designed specifically for the US market to be compatible with the existing wooden hives of the beekeepers. Just like B type bottom boards for our Ergo Series Insulated Bee Hives, these bottom boards are equipped with pollen trap (for collecting pollen) and screen.

All our bottom boards can be used safely in all climate conditions. The unique grill design enables ventilation in extremely hot weather, while helping remove moisture from the bee hive at the very cold temperatures. Balancing the moisture inside the hive results in maturing the honey sooner, thus increasing the hive productivity.

The bottom boards are equipped with a bottom a drawer. You can have a better understanding of your hive through checking the drawer.

The pollen traps on the bottom boards are specially designed to prevent bee injuries while collecting the pollen. A built in pollen tray enables collecting the pollen hygienically.

The bee hive entrance holes can be opened or closed very easily. The entrance can also be width-adjusted based on the climate.

The air channels built into the board prevents bee losses during transportation.

The boards are built tough against impacts and are durable.

I’ve purchased many Apimaye products and have yet to bee disappointed. The bottom boards are super functional and not one dimensional like other bottom boards. You can collect pollen, make random checks to see what’s going on in the hive by what has fallen onto the insert. I also keep the tray full of diatomaceous earth when I’m not collecting pollen to help control SHB and Wax moths from reproducing on the bottom of the hive. Which happened in another hive that I have. I love their products and I’m glad they are making 8 frame bottom boards now. Gonna purchase some for sure.

Many Good Purposes

Love these bottoms for a number of reasons. 1) After a mite treatment you can pull the bottom drawer out to inspect the mite impact. 2) you are able to reduce the entrance in the winter for heat control 3) you can reduce the entrance in robbing season 4) one can collect pollen if desired. 4) one can close the entrance completely to transport

Well worth having. Easier hive beetle management

Since switching to these bottoms I have less moisture build up not to mention hive beetles. Putting diatomaceous earth in the bottom tray has kept my hive beetle problem to almost zero. The bees work them to the bottom and it does the rest. The sliders help control the air flow easily without having to use a standard clumsy entrance reducer, also allows a complete entrance closer if you want to move the hive. After trying one, I bought 2 more, then 3 more. I will be replacing all of my standard bottoms with these. Thanks Apimaye!

Better than wood

Like these bottom boards better than wooden boards. Easy to clean and my girls seem to bee happy. The landing board is great, the entrance system perfect. Easy replacement if needed. Recommend for those looking for less maintenance.

Excellent Bottom Board System!

These bottom boards are very well made and an excellent addition to any apiary. The integration of entrance reducers and IPM is great! Switching all my bottom boards over to these slowly!
