Unlike traditional supers, Apimaye’s Insulated Deep Super is the only one on the market with stainless steel latches and built-in ergonomic handles. The side handles allow for easier lifting with your entire body, reducing strain on your forearms.
Designed for flexibility, this deep super stacks perfectly with other Apimaye equipment while maintaining compatibility with wooden Langstroth supers. You can place Apimaye supers on top of wooden supers, or place wooden supers on top of Apimaye supers, since they share the same inner dimensions. It is a standard 10-frame Langstroth size, allowing you to use it with your existing wooden frames for added convenience.
The precise stacking design eliminates air gaps, meaning your bees propolize the seams less, making hive inspections and super removal - easier. You can safely use your hive tool on Apimaye supers without worry.
Additionally, the Apimaye Insulated Deep Super includes a slot in the middle to insert an Apimaye Super Division Board. The Super Division Board allows you to house two colonies side by side in a double nuc configuration, making it an excellent option for splitting hives or overwintering smaller colonies.

There’s great comfort knowing that no matter the temperature outside here near Wichita Falls, Texas, the bees have an easier time doing what they’re already expert at doing, maintaining perfect climate control inside for the colony. Summers can be blistering hot (excess of 110° Fahrenheit is common), and even here in north central Texas winters can be brutally cold (in 2023 we had two weeks below 0° Celsius as high temperatures with lows at -15° Celsius, wind chill way below that), but the Apimaye technology keeps heat in during winter and excessive heat out in the summer.
My wooden ware equipment was really showing signs of age, expedited by the extremes of weather after just four seasons. Some remark about the cost of this equipment, and up front it does cost, but knowing the quality means these hives will last ten, fifteen years, possibly even beyond that, more than pays for this investment.
If I were forced to find a complaint I’d only say I wished the frame spacers held the frames together tighter for undrawn frames—the bees have a slight propensity to build wonky comb on blanks because there’s a little extra space between frames. If the frames have drawn comb the spacers work great and help to keep each box properly spaced.
I’ll not ever look back, exceptionally happy with my investment!

It’s expensive but I do like it.
I actually partially disassembled the APIMAYE hive to install some beetle equipment to partially stop hive beetles. I also added a 4 inch removable door to allow a wool stuffed pillow in the bottom of the hive for winter warmth and possible moisture issues. Since the pillow will cover the entrance during winter I also added 3 round accesses into the 4 inch board above the the pillow for winter time trips outside the hive on warm winter days. This is all a learning experience for me from gaining other suggestions and ideas/ knowledge from other companies as well.
