Recently a friend of mine got out of beekeeping due to his advanced age. He gave 3 deeps and 3 mediums. However, I was missing the feeders. I purchased an additional deep as I live to over winter in two deeps if the hive can support it.
These hive components are frankly expensive. However, if I overwinter better (New England Beekeeper) it will be well worth it. Also, I've been buying hive deep kits for years. I seldom get more than 2 years out of them. My bees heavily properlize and it stresses the wood hives when removing frames for inspection, etc. I'm excited to see how these fare over the winter.
Also, I really like the feeders so far. liquid feeding has been quite easy and sugar (candy) feeding should be good too.
