Our nuc supers are designed for our Apimaye 7 frame nucs. If you have a single colony in our 7 frame nuc, and want to continue with our 7 frame system, you can grow your colony using our 7 frame nuc super.
Our 7 frame systems are easier to lift as they are up to one third lighter than the regular 10 frame hive. Our nuc super, filled with 7 frames of honey would be about the same weight as a 10 frame medium super. Therefore it may be preferred by some beekeepers as they can have a lighter super and can still use the frames interchangeably.
Our nuc super also has 4 round entrances, 2 on each side.
I won a 7 frame with top, bottom and feeders. I used it for a swarm. They took to it, so I bought another deep and a medium. Great hive. Plenty of ventilation which is important down here in Southern Alabama. I love the top feeder. I can feed and not disturb the hive and it doesn’t drip or leak like a quart jar feeder. I do sometimes get ants or Asian cockroaches up there, but easy to squish.
My only complaint is my frame holder won’t hang over the box, the frame holder is too narrow.
I will be buying another set!
I have 24 of the 7 frame Apimaye hives and they are a great asset in my apiary. I use them for splits, mating nucs and overwintering nucs.
I keep buying these 7-frame nucs. They are the perfect size and configuration for my bee setup. Well-engineered. Solid. Insulated. Flexible use. On this particular order, I did have a problem getting a coupon to work. No worries! Customer service resolved the issue quickly.
