NEW Apimaye entrance reducer for your 10 frame hives with mouse guard.

The new entrance reducer has 2 nested sliders that enable you to customize your hive entrance. With the new reversible entrance reducer you can:

Have the hive entrances on the edges instead of the center, just like the 7 frame hives

If you are planning on having 2 colonies in the same hive and are concerned about the drifting, this would give you a good piece of mind
If you would like to collect pollen for short periods of time, but don't want to put the trap in or out daily, you can block the center and have the openings on the side

Collect some of the pollen

Apimaye pollen traps are the highest yield pollen traps in the market that will take all the pollen from the bees. You can now put the pollen trap in the hive, and have a few holes of hive entrance open in the center, activating the pollen trap, and have more entrances on the edges, bypassing the pollen trap.

Entrance to hive

This newer entrance allows more access for bees to enter the hive. Old one only had 14 options, and I found also that I could lift the entrance up leaving even more access for bees. I had so many bees they were banging into each other and that has greatly reduced with the new one purchased. Thanks

Replacement

My original entrance reducer became so brittle that the bees going in and out were breaking little pieces off of it. Replaced with a new one, easy swap out.
Looks great again.

Super Honey Box

My plan is to run a two Queen system in the hopes to increase my honey gathering abilities. I believe this entrance change will be instrumental in my idea. Once I’m fully out of spring I will split the box with the dividers they sale for the 10 frame boxes and this entrance will come into play. Once I get a Queen in the second opposing side this should double my population and with that increase the hives ability to produce more honey.

Well built. I only question the life span in the southern sun. No Lifetime Warranty is disappointing Time will tell. But I love the product so far.

Its like having an all inclusive hive set up

The Apimaye hive is the best thing since the Langstroth Hive was developed. It's great quality and I haven't had one bee drown in the feeders. I have been extremely happy with the convenience of having everything in one set up with the ability to move the hives if needed. I have not had to worry about storms blowing off lids ect. There is a lot to say! My only wish is that they would make an option to run all medium frames for us smaller women who really just want to use all medium boxes. It means I would buy more boxes and frames :).

Bear fought the hive, and the hive won

My bees overwintered beautifully in spite of -25F temperatures and strong winds. Sadly a bear decided it wanted a snack in the spring and rolled the hive across the field. Because the whole hive latches together and was built so well, the only damage was to the top cover, where the bear sunk his teeth in trying to get a little snack. Replaced the cover, just like new again. I’ve had bears completely destroy hives in the past. Very pleased with Apimaye hives, and buying more as the budget allows!

Fun Toy and Nice Tool that does the work for you

This is a very nice toy to add to my toy box. So simple to use. It is basically a glorified set up for queen rearing but I couldn’t resist. I liked hooking the frames together till they were fully drawn which went quickly with Triple waxed Premier foundation cut to fit spaces. You can’t open the frames ….the foundation just fits in the spaces. We used a dab of glue on some. Great way to get them filled….hooking them together like ten frame. I put a package in and removed the queen after I had enough frames with eggs to go around four ways. So I went over to check them out yesterday ….i guess too early because there were queens all over the place. I saw one with a newly mated mark which was pretty cool and another went in the wrong hive and I managed to save her from an angry ball….i think that I was in the way. Very easy if you set it up and stay out of the way. Bee orgy in the garden.
