High capacity feeder for 10 frame hives. Can contain about 2.5 gallons of syrup (10 liters).

Unlike the other Apimaye feeders, this one does not have a lid, so you can pour the syrup only by taking the top cover off.

Product notes:

  • This feeder does not fit in the supers
  • This feeder is tall! So the top cover will be sitting on the feeder itself
  • Two steel adapters are included to latch the top cover to the main hive body

No more drowning bees!

I came back to the Jumbo Feeder product page to find the total capacity of the feeder, since I planned to fill it up before leaving for a period. I noticed reviewers here mentioning bee drowning, and noticed many more drowned bees when I resumed feeding in October compared to back in the Spring.

So I made four bee ladders out of 1/4" mesh hardware cloth - cut, trimmed and bent in an inverted 'V' shape to fit snugly over both sides of the steep ramps found in this feeder model. I wanted the ladders to be removable for cleaning. The girls are happily climbing in and out of the syrup tank with no drownings!

Love the Jumbo Feeders

Our bees get so hungry at the end of the season up here in Alaska. These Jumbo feeders really make it convenient for me to keep up with their needs!

Feeder 4 year review

Excellent. We have the smaller nuc feeders. Also use the full size feeders. The deep is derivation of others and excellent. We have fewer bees lost than the Greek or New Zealand top feeders. Clean, easy to use - they simply work. Our preferred feeder company.
