I was quite skeptical of the whole “keeping your bees in something outside of wood”, vibe going around but, too be fair, I thought why not see what it is about and give it a try. Anyway, my expectations were blown away. This beastly piece is Ft. Knox sturdy, comes with so many options and configurations, comes assembled, the possibilities are limitless. In these times of varroa with boots on ground, pesticide usage and loss of forage, and that gnawing feeling of an existential crisis on the horizon, Apimaye has brought a fresh breath of excitement for this mediocre beekeeper’s journey! Can’t thank you guys enough!!!
The hives are well worth the money and they stay cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. It is easier to feed them to.
I started converting eleven hives to Apimaye from wooden ware in June 2025 and have never regretted it! Everything from superior temperature management whether one is in southern heat or northern cold, to feeding without disturbing bees, and entrance control without adding and removing mouse guards or clunky entrance reducers, these hives are simple and fun! Solid 5-stars! I’d give them 6 stars if there was an “integrated” built-in way to treat with OAV, but that’s easily resolved with numerous work around techniques from which we can pick our favorites. These hives easily pay for themselves not only monetarily, but with the reduced stress that comes from wood box management. Thanks Apimaye!
I love these boxes. I have had great success in our long cold winters so far. I also appreciate the updates that continue to be made like the improved feeders, double slide bee entrance, vent covers and wider variety of cilor options.
The Ergo insulated hive is probably the best beehive on the market. You can tell from the quality and design that someone who knows bees thought it up.
