Bottom Board for Wooden Hives

G type bottom board is designed specifically for the US market to be compatible with the existing wooden hives of the beekeepers. Just like B type bottom boards for our Ergo Series Insulated Bee Hives, these bottom boards are equipped with pollen trap (for collecting pollen) and screen.

All our bottom boards can be used safely in all climate conditions. The unique grill design enables ventilation in extremely hot weather, while helping remove moisture from the bee hive at the very cold temperatures. Balancing the moisture inside the hive results in maturing the honey sooner, thus increasing the hive productivity.

The bottom boards are equipped with a bottom a drawer. You can have a better understanding of your hive through checking the drawer.

The pollen traps on the bottom boards are specially designed to prevent bee injuries while collecting the pollen. A built in pollen tray enables collecting the pollen hygienically.

The bee hive entrance holes can be opened or closed very easily. The entrance can also be width-adjusted based on the climate.

The air channels built into the board prevents bee losses during transportation.

The boards are built tough against impacts and are durable.

They are easy to clean,

And they are compatible with your hive!

These are amazing

They just blow your old school bottom boards out the water. Worth every penny. I used another brand of screened bottom board prior. Lots of dead bees in that other brand getting trapped between the board and screen. This board, essentially zero.

What is really best, is the ability to put diatomaceous earth in the bottom of the pullout tray. It literally wrecks small hive beetles. This feature alone is worth it. Don’t have to fumble with the between frames traps. You pour a bit in the bottom tray, spread it out, push it back in. When I pull it out, literally a killing field of beetles. After a few weeks over 100. Now I don’t even see SHB alive, ever.

The pollen trap is also convenient and practical. Now if I could just get apimaye to produce a cloake board, I’d be set. It’s really the only thing keeping me from going apimaye hives across the board.

Great innovation

I discovered these at the 2024 EAS conference. My order for 3 was delivered more quickly than expected. Set up instructions were great. Quality and fit are top notch. They integrated well with my 10 frame wooden boxes. Highly recommend.

Bottom Board for Wooden hives

I originally purchased 2 of these, now have 5 total. For me they work great and allow me to manage the hives easily and effectively. I like the removable tray at bottom and the adjustable entrance, I’ve already adjusted it for robbing bees this year, real simple I like it. Looking fwd to using the pollen traps next year.

An amazing experience.

This item is a pollen removal/collection board which I bought and put away for the spring so that when Nectar starts flowing I can start collecting pollen. The board and its system look and feel very sturdy and capable and I believe it will perform just great as indicated by some research on my part and according to other customers who bought those boards. Upon arrival, it had a broken front landing deck lock caused by rough handling, but upon contacting an Epimay customer service person, that problem was corrected immediately with intent of pleasing the customer with a replacement part and that was sent off to me the next day at no cost to me!
The whole replacement process took less than 5 minutes to accomplish, and left me with a huge positive impression of Epimay's resolve to make their customers happy. Thank you Epimay!
