This is our 3rd apimaye hive. Bees overwintered in it healthily. Very easy to feed and de bug. Our hive got lost by UPS when delivering, Apimaye were on it and got us new one in short order, great customer service 👍

In 2024 I decided to buy the Apimaye bottom boards for all of my 10 frame hives. Partly because I was very tired of replacing my bottom boards which no matter how well I prime and paint them, seem to rot out in the rainforest I live in, in a short time. And secondly I wanted to try them to combat my sometimes serious hive beetle issue. This seemed to work very well by the way, I put diatomaceous earth in the drawer in the bottom, and due to the excellent design was able to monitor and change it with no fuss as needed. The first time I did this I found 145 dead hive beetles in the drawer! I felt that my hive beetle issue was well and truly under control and the bees didn't have to waste as much time managing this pest as they had in the past.
After I vape my hives I appreciate being able to just slide out the drawer and have a look at how many mites have died. I have no problem vaping my hives since I attach the bottom board to a slatted rack in which I drill a hole in the back for the vape gun. This is also an easier option if I want to switch boxes around.
I also enjoyed other features such as being able to rapidly reduce (for robbing) and open the entrance without having to upset the bees by jamming hive tools in and trying to wrestle a wooden reducer in or out. This spring I bought an entire hive to see how the bees liked it and so far it's going well, but it's too early to have much of an opinion as they've only been in it a month. I can say that by all appearances it is well constructed and should perform as advertised. I like how all the pieces lock together.
I really do appreciate how Apimaye designed these hives and components to be compatible with your existing wooden wear. It would have been much more challenging if I couldn't use my wooden frames when transferring the bees to their new home.

I'm a 6-year hobby beekeeper. Between me and my dad, we own four 10-frame and one 7-frame hive. We were surprised by the updated hive entrance with my most recent purchase. The bees have more options for hive entrances.

Overall, were happy with the hives.

I started out with 10 Apimaye hives this year. Liked them so much that I ordered another 12. They come with everything we as beekeepers need. Extremely well built and easy to use. Love the fact that I can feed the bees without making them mad. Only thing I would like to see is a robbing screen that we can purchase. I understand that we can close the hives off too a one hole opening but where we live the robber bees are relentless and can over power a strong hive.

These hives are bulletproof, easy to use, and my bees are very healthy and happy in them. Customer service is outstanding. Using the feeders is easy and not messy at all. The bees don't have to work as hard to maintain the perfect environment. The bottom board is brilliant. Best thing is ability to seal up the hive to move. It is so well made and solid. I am so happy to leave the cumbersome wooden hives behind.
