Built-In Pollen Trap

The pollen trap on this bottom board is built in and is designed not to be removed. You turn it on and off with the sliding entrance reducers:

• Pollen trap on: slide the entrance reducers so the entrance is open in the middle. Bees enter through the center, where the pollen trap is.
• Pollen trap off: slide the entrance reducers to block the middle entrances, so bees don't pass through the trap.

You can also leave part of the middle open to collect only some of the incoming pollen. The pollen falls into the mite and pollen tray, which slides out from the back of the hive so you can collect it without opening the hive.

Improved Entrance Reducer & Landing Board

The entrance reducers with mouse guard are the new reversible style that enables you to have 2 entrances at the edges of the hive for future 2 colony system. It also enables partial pollen collection. The folding landing board and the lock is also integrated together. With this new single piece design, you don't have to screw the lock to the wooden box, and can easily fold the entrance reducer and lock it when you need to.

Future Proof

We are working on an 8 frame insulated hive, and when the body is ready, you will be able to use it with this 8 frame bottom board. This bottom board already comes with indents and marks to install latches. All you'll have to do is get the latch and adapter, and the insulated box to turn your bottom board into an Apimaye 8 frame insulated hive.
