I bought a Carnolian package last year and messed up the first two weeks after I installed them. They weren’t really big enough in numbers or resources going into winter last year. They Apimaye boxes kept them alive despite my mistake and I extracted $1100.00 USD worth of honey out that hive alone for the season. I had to put two wooden medium supers on top of the two Apimaye mediums that I already had. So I ordered two new Apimaye mediums supers for next year. They were a really small population going into last winter and wintered just fine. They are going into this winter with bees spilling and pouring out the sides whenever I take off the top. Just plain wonderful to see. I run about 35 hives and as my old equipment breaks I will replace with Apimaye. Well all except my 4 top bar hives.

Lots of options these days but still the best overall imo. User-friendly, tough, bees love them and thrive in them. Very well thought out all the way around.

I love the medium supers, but they really need the circular entrance/vent like the deep supers have.

I always used Apimaye large supers for my second brood box but I started using some of these this year. They are easier for me to handle and I think that they will be cozier for the bees to overwinter in. They are more versatile to add or take off as populations shift throughout the season.
